Queen of the Universe cordially invites you to our annual Lenten Soup Dinner, a delightful occasion for fellowship, reflection, and service. This cherished tradition brings together members of our community to share a simple yet meaningful meal, while supporting a noble cause.
Our Lenten Soup Dinner will be held on Saturday, March 29th, following the 4:00 PM Mass. The event will take place in the church’s social hall, providing a welcoming and comfortable space for all attendees. We are excited to announce that serving will commence promptly at 5:30 PM, ensuring everyone has ample time to enjoy the various soups and salads prepared by our dedicated volunteers.
Call for Volunteers
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to contribute their culinary talents to this event. If you have a favorite soup or salad recipe that you would like to share, we encourage you to participate. Your homemade creations will not only warm the hearts and stomachs of our guests but also embody the spirit of generosity and community that defines our church.
To volunteer, please sign up at the Parish Center or contact our event coordinator, Mike Nolan. We appreciate your willingness to lend a hand and make this event a success.
Admission and Donations
We kindly request that attendees bring canned goods as their admission “fee”. These donations will be collected at the entrance and later distributed to Mary’s Cupboard, our local food pantry that serves individuals and families in need.
Why Attend?
The Lenten Soup Dinner is more than just a meal; it is an opportunity to come together as a community and embody the values of compassion, charity, and fellowship.
- Spiritual Enrichment: Lent is a time for introspection and growth. Sharing a meal with fellow parishioners after Mass helps deepen our sense of connection and purpose during this sacred season.
- Culinary Delight: Enjoy a variety of delicious soups and salads, lovingly prepared by our talented volunteers. Whether you prefer hearty stews, creamy chowders, or refreshing salads, there will be something to satisfy every palate.
- Community Building: The dinner provides a relaxed and friendly environment to meet new people, strengthen existing friendships, and foster a sense of belonging within our parish.
- Supporting a Worthy Cause: Your canned goods donations will directly benefit Mary’s Cupboard, helping to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. This act of charity is a tangible way to live out our faith and make a positive impact.
We look forward to seeing you at the Lenten Soup Dinner. Together, we will share a meal, celebrate our faith, and support those in need. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29th. Thank you for being a part of this meaningful event and for your continued support of our church and community.
