"Break into song; sing praise."
-Psalm 98:4

Since Vatican II, singing has become an integral part of the celebration of Mass. Members in our parish Music Ministry volunteer their time and talents to lead the congregation in musical prayer. Ministries include the need for instrumentalists, cantors, and choir members to provide the parish with sacred and diverse musical prayer experiences for all ages.
Cantors
Cantors lead the congregation in prayerful song at Masses when the choir is not present. Cantors can be scheduled as little as once per month, and can choose which weekends they would like to sing. Prospective cantors should be at least high school aged, enjoy singing, and not be afraid to sing in front of a large group! An meeting with David is required, even if you have previously cantored in another church. We'll work to train you regarding all the aspects of effective and animated cantoring.
Queen's Choir
The Queen's Choir provides music at select weekend masses (Sept-May), as well as occasions like Confirmation, the annual Remembrance Mass, Christmas Eve, and the Easter Triduum. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings (Sept-May) from 7-8:45 pm in the church. New members are welcome and encouraged to join this diverse group of singers. Please contact David for information about the next open rehearsal for new members.
Instrumentalists
Occasionally, other instrumentalists such as flutes, trumpets, or violins are added to Mass to create a different musical experience for our congregation. Prospective instrumentalists must audition before being scheduled for a mass. Contact David to set up an audition.
