Calix is for people that are putting together a spiritual program to correspond with a 12 step program. A gathering of individuals who want to improve their spiritual program, because they were afflicted or affected by alcohol, drug and other diseases. If you are currently in a 12 step program, consider calix as an opportunity to learn more about the God who loves you. Calix meets every first and third Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the parish center.
The Disability Ministry of Queen of the Universe supports individuals and families in our community experiencing physical and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or illness/disabilities that may occur with natural aging.
Currently volunteers provide resources to individuals and families, conduct a support group for Families of Children with Disabilities, identify and work to correct physical and social barriers in the parish, assist with the Parish Religious Education Program for children with learning challenges and encourage those with disabilities to participate in the activities and ministries of QU. Some future goals are a support group for family members of persons with mental illness and fundraising for facility improvements to make the parish center accessible to all parishioners.
Each year we generate and organize over 1,300 gifts for children and families in our community who have fallen on hard times. This is a monumental task that takes many volunteers and leaders to pull off. Every year we organize teams that sponsor certain schools, nursing homes, homeless, families in difficulty. We are always looking for help. Please pray on your availability to help with this tremendous outreach program.
Health care professionals providing their expertise to our parish family’s wellness. They offer blood pressure screening after all Masses on select Sunday’s and so much more.
